Mohammad Tamim is a Professor
and Head of the Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineering,
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka. His current
responsibilities include teaching and supervision of theses at undergraduate
and graduate level, research, rendering expert services to the energy sector
and duties related to academic administration. Dr Tamim graduated in mechanical
engineering from BUET and did an M.Tech. also in mechanical engineering from
Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He obtained his Ph.D. in Petroleum
Engineering from the University of Alberta.
His research interest includes reservoir engineering; oil and gas
property evaluation; energy economics, planning, policy and regulation. He
has published a number of research papers and articles in national and
international journals. Dr. Tamim is a member of the national energy advisory committee of Bangladesh Government. He was also member of a number of government committees dealing with energy issues. He was the founding chairperson of SPE Bangladesh Section. |
